"Vaibhav Kala, founder of Aqua terra Adventures , which has organised several hiking trips for executives, especially in the Himalayas, says, “Having done their fancy hotels and four-walled holidays, the European vineyards and polar cruises, executives in their 50s are looking at collecting experiences that are not typical cocktail-circuit talk. They are willing to challenge themselves over hard treks and river expeditions.” Kala of Aquaterra Adventures says CXOs find great merit in using natural settings as a tool to bring teams closer. “Whether it is rafting, trekking, setting up camps, abseiling, or even firewalking, it is an intense ice breaker and takes down everyone’s urban masks. City-based programmes can never have the same effect,” he adds."

According to a recent survey of 100 CEOs in India by Aquaterra Adventures, a leading adventure tour operator, 75% of them said they go for adventure travel as it gives them a chance to introspect. The unadulterated time, without distractions, they said, gives them clarity of thought and helps them think through new ideas.
