On June 5, 2026, NCC cadets organized a tree plantation drive at Shri Bharat Mandir Inter College, Rishikesh, under the leadership of Principal Yamuna Prasad Tripathi. Principal Tripathi emphasized that, starting from World Environment Day, everyone should continuously plant trees throughout the monsoon season and contribute to purifying the environment by planting as many trees as possible; he noted that environmental pollution is currently causing a significant rise in heat, leading to adverse weather conditions. Senior NCC Officer Lieutenant Lakhvinder Singh stated that on World Environment Day, the cadets planted saplings of mango, guava, amaltas, amla, neem, arjun, mulberry, and jamun, among others; these trees will provide future generations with pure oxygen and succulent fruits, while also offering medicinal benefits for treating various ailments. Junior Wing NCC Officer Vikas Negi remarked that tree plantation is the only solution to combat global warming, noting that there is no other way to restore the environmental balance. Senior Lecturer Ranjan Anthwal, Senior Administrative Officer Sumitra Mehar, Kishore Kumar, Harma Bisht, Sohan Singh, and Kishan Thapa were also present on the occasion.
