Our Story
Thomso, synonymous to splendor and fervor, is the Annual Cultural Festival of Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. It has been deemed as the "Annual Youth Festival of Uttarakhand" by the Govt. of Uttarakhand since 2005. Keeping it's spirit high by being one of the greatest and the grandest youth festivals of India, Thomso encompasses the rich history, evolving culture and the intricate heritage of IIT Roorkee.
The previous editions of the fest have witnessed the joyous presence of well known celebrities and various youth icons like Amit Trivedi, Farhan Akhtar, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam, Nikhil D Souza, The Local Train, Mohit Chauhan, Indian Ocean, Parikrama, Shaan and international artists like DJ Marnik, DJ WolfPack, DJ MarianaBo among many others, drawing huge crowds at the pronites.
The 38th edition of Thomso will keep up with the legacy, and promises you to make 18-20 Oct'2019 days worth waiting for. Wrapped inside the mortal flame of light and unreeling into it's delectation, we welcome you all to Thomso '19: A Gleaming Gala.
