USE OF "Another vs Other
vs the Other"

When to Use ANOTHER

Another is used with singular countable nouns. It means one more, an alternative

Examples:

1- Can you manage another piece of cake?

2- You wouldn’t remember me. I was in another group.

3- He tried his fortune in another city.

Other is used with plural or uncountable nouns. It means different, additional or extra.

Examples:

1- Does life exist on other planets?

2- We disputed with each other on various issues.

3- I’m sorry, but I have other plans.

The other is used with singular nouns, plural nouns, countable or uncountable nouns. It means the second of two things, people or animals.

Examples:

1- Sally is starting to play with the other children.

2- While the other children played together, Ted ignored them.

3- The grass is greener on the other side.

1- Every day , Everyday

Meaning-: When used as an adjective , it is
written as one word.
When used in this manner, it
means' common' or ‘ routine'.
In all other contexts , it is
written as two words and
means ‘ daily'.

Ex-: Every day , Anu goes to the club to play
tennis.
Ex-: Traffic is an everyday problem in most
cities in India.

2- Towards , Toward
Meaning-: Both words can be used interchangeably to mean ‘ in the direction of'
Or ‘ approaching'. Americans tend to use ‘toward', while the British
Use ‘ towards'.

Ex-: Anu walked toward/towards the
house.
Ex-: Swayam got scared when Anuradha
ran toward/ towards him.
