At the FE Mobility Summit 2026, during the Panel Discussion on The Energy Equation: Oil, Geopolitics and the Future of Mobility, Karan Jain, Founder & CEO, Carrum Mobility Solutions Pvt Ltd discussed how global oil price volatility directly impacts fleet businesses, where fuel accounts for a major portion of operational costs.

He explained that rising fuel prices hurt margins and increase transportation costs, forcing mobility companies to become more efficient and technology-driven.

According to him, modern fleet companies are evolving into “tech companies with wheels attached,” relying heavily on data and operational optimization.

He also stated that EV adoption is now driven not just by sustainability but by economics and energy security. He stressed that India must accelerate investments in charging infrastructure, battery manufacturing, and long-term EV ecosystem development to reduce vulnerability to oil shocks.
