Dr. Tariq Rashid Shah is a highly accomplished interventional cardiologist and a leading name in advanced cardiac care in Kashmir. He currently serves as Director and Head of the Department of Cardiology and Cath Lab at Ujala Cygnus Kashmir Super Speciality Hospital, Nowgam, Srinagar, where he plays a pivotal role in delivering state-of-the-art cardiovascular services.
With over 22 years of medical experience, including more than a decade in interventional cardiology, Dr. Shah has built a reputation for clinical excellence and precision. He has successfully performed over 5,000 cardiac interventions, reflecting both his expertise and commitment to patient care. His core areas of specialization include coronary angiography, angioplasty (PTCA), permanent pacemaker implantation, and the management of complex coronary artery disease and heart failure.
Dr. Shah’s academic journey is equally distinguished. He completed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Srinagar (2003), followed by an MD in Internal Medicine from Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Srinagar (2008). He later earned his DM in Cardiology from SKIMS (2017), where he was awarded the Gold Medal in recognition of his outstanding academic and clinical performance.
