Tarigami Chairs Review Meeting of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Departments in Kulgam

Kulgam, June 8: MLA Kulgam, , today chaired a comprehensive review meeting of the Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries departments in Kulgam district.
The meeting focused on assessing the implementation of ongoing schemes, addressing the challenges faced by farmers and orchardists, and exploring measures to strengthen agricultural productivity and horticultural development across the district.

During the meeting, Tarigami stressed the need for better institutional support, timely assistance, and coordinated efforts among departments to enhance the livelihood and economic well-being of farming communities. He emphasized that agriculture and horticulture remain the backbone of the district's economy and called for effective implementation of welfare and development programmes.

The meeting was attended by the Director Horticulture Kashmir, Director Agriculture Kashmir, and senior district officers of the concerned departments.

Highlighting the concerns of the farming community, Tarigami said that the Crop Insurance Scheme remains a long-pending demand of farmers and urged the government to ensure its early implementation. He also demanded immediate relief and compensation for farmers and orchardists affected by recent hailstorms in various areas of Kulgam district.
