Uri has three running power projects — Uri Civil, Uri First (480 MW), Uri Second (280 MW – HCC) and LJHP (105 MW). Thousands of megawatts are generated from our land, our water, and our resources.
Yet the electricity produced here is sent to Delhi, Haryana and Punjab, where even poor families receive 200 to 300 units of free power.
And the people of Uri?
We still suffer power cuts.
We pay our bills, yet live in darkness.
Is it fair that the place which lights up other states is itself left in the dark?
How long will the people of Uri continue to face this injustice?
