The yield on 30-year government bonds dropped nearly 40 basis points amid speculation of no more interest rate hikes. This, along with slower US job growth and rising unemployment, suggests the bear market could be ending if yields stay low.

State Bank of India's Q2 net profit rose 8% YoY to Rs 14,330 crore, exceeding estimates, due to lower provisions. Core income and other income also increased, but operating profit fell 8.07%. Asset quality improved.
