At Velox Automation, a large-scale retrofit project was undertaken for ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India's CSP plant, which involved the modernization of 400+ legacy roller table drives using Siemens Sinamics S120 technology.
The project required phased implementation with zero production downtime while overcoming challenges such as drive failures, limited installation space, high ambient temperatures, and seamless integration with existing PLC systems.
Velox implemented Siemens S120 drives with common DC link architecture, PROFIBUS-to-fiber communication, regenerative technology, and advanced panel solutions using Rittal enclosures with anti-vibration and cooling arrangements.
This retrofit significantly improved system reliability, reduced breakdowns and reliance on maintenance, increased energy efficiency, and ensured uninterrupted plant operations through a unified and future-ready automation platform.

AMNS Hazira needed to upgrade 400+ legacy roller table drives that were causing frequent failures and production disruptions.
The retrofit had to be completed in phases with zero downtime in production, while managing space constraints, high temperatures, vibration-prone installation conditions, and integration with existing plant systems.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Velox Automation implemented Siemens Sinamics S120 drives with a common DC link architecture to improve reliability, energy efficiency, and system performance.
The project includes PROFIBUS to fiber optic communication integration, harmonic reduction using ALM and AIM technology, and retrofitting 200+ VFD panels with cooling and anti-vibration arrangements using Rittal enclosures.
