About the speaker:
Dr. Donali Gogoi is a Project Scientist II at the National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF), Noida. Her research focuses on the development and application of the high-resolution DM-Chem model for forecasting fog and air pollution over Delhi and surrounding regions. Her work contributes to improving weather and air-quality prediction systems, with implications for environmental management and public health.
Dr. Donali Gogoi is originally from Jorhat, Assam. She completed her schooling at Don Bosco High School, Lichubari, Jorhat, and pursued her Higher Secondary education and B.Sc. in Geology (Honours) from Jagannath Barooah College, Jorhat. She subsequently earned her Master’s degree in Atmosphere and Ocean Sciences from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar.
Her research career began as a Junior Research Fellow at the National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL), Andhra Pradesh, which paved the way for her doctoral studies at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Kerala. Her Ph.D. research focused on understanding the impact of natural and anthropogenic forcings on the Atmospheric Boundary Layer, utilizing both in-situ observations and satellite measurements to investigate its characteristics and variability.
Outside her research and professional responsibilities, Dr. Donali likes travelling, playing badminton, and dancing.
