My sincere appeal to students seeking admission in 11th Commerce 🙏

Dear students

You must have heard the story of Arjuna, when he was asked by his archery teacher as to what is it that he can see. He had said that he can see only ‘the eye’ and he is known to be the best Archer of all times.

Grade 11 and 12 are foundation years and also decisive years which determine your career path. Hence it is important that students see only ‘the eye’.

A good education for a Commerce student is pursuing CA, CS, CMA, a degree in Economics from a premier institute like Lady Sriram college, Management from Premier institute like IIM Lucknow, or getting into premier institutes like Ashoka, Jaihind, etc. . For all these courses and colleges, it is very important to do well in entrance exams and all entrance exams need conceptual understanding of commerce subjects, which is primarily Accounts, Economics and Business Studies.

Coming to Mathematics, it is a myth that Commerce students need Math. Pure Math or even Applied Math are subjects that need focus, time and above all aptitude for Mathematics. By taking Math as a subject, students will end up spending too much time on the subject that doesn’t let them focus on ‘the eye’, which is their understanding of Accounts and their Entrance exam.

Having said that, we at Lumens school have structured our Commerce curriculum such that students focus on important Commerce subjects along with preparing for Entrances like CA Foundation, CS, CUET, IPMAT. Every topic is dealt with CBSE Board as well as Entrance point of view. Students do Mathematics only to the extent required for Entrance exams. Subjects like Quant Math, Law, Econometrics, etc which are additionally required for various Entrances are taught separately by experienced faculty.

A well designed and structured course curriculum will help students not only to crack entrance exam but also save a year. Students are able to achieve this without any pressure because Grade 11 and 12 students at Lumens do not need to go any tuitions or for any other classes.

My sincere appeal to all students that you have only one chance and hence I request you to focus on ‘the eye’.
