Green Sakthi

Celebrating Earth Day with our soon-to-graduate grade 12 students who have been attending Green Sakthi Club since they were very young! Today they each took a fruit tree home to plant in their garden or village.

Chitra, one of the incredible Exnora zero-waste team members shares her story. A job, a team and a community can be truly life saving.

Every day 2 tonnes of waste is collected and each item is sorted by hand by our Exnora team, who bring immense dignity, joy and dedication to their work.

This program requires no electricity and serves as a model for other rural communities all over the world to adopt.

Green Sakthi was founded by Sri Sakthi Amma in 1998 in the rural village of Thirumalaikodi, Tamil Nadu, India.

The initiative was established to reforest and restore the arid Kailasa Giri Hills and surrounding areas, focusing on environmental sustainability and community empowerment.
