Established in 2014, Accepting Others Organization (AOO) is a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-religious entity operating in federal Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Led by women and youth, our focus is on promoting and safeguarding human rights, particularly advancing women's rights and empowerment nationwide. AOO is dedicated to fostering peaceful coexistence through tolerance and collaboration across diverse societal segments. Our efforts center on peacebuilding, social cohesion, and community engagement, believing in the power of dialogue to create inclusivity. A key aspect of our work involves advocating for crucial frameworks such as the Iraqi National Action Plan II and UN Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 2250, aiming to ensure gender equality and enhance women and youth participation in peacebuilding. Additionally, we provide support to governmental and non-governmental entities in developing policies aligned with international standards, striving to establish a just and equitable society. Through collaboration and community engagement, AOO seeks to drive positive change, promoting diversity and inclusivity, and empowering women and youth to shape their communities actively.
Role of the Project Coordinator
The Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing the successful implementation of project activities, ensuring coordination among project teams, stakeholders, and partners, and facilitating efficient communication and reporting mechanisms. They are responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to achieve project objectives effectively.
Specific Tasks
1. 1. Project Planning and Implementation:
• Develop detailed project work plans in collaboration with project managers and team members, outlining objectives, activities, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate the implementation of project activities according to established plans, ensuring adherence to project goals and targets.
2. 2. Team Coordination and Support:
• Coordinate with project staff, volunteers, and partners to ensure effective ex*****on of project activities, including task assignment, scheduling, and supervision.
• Provide guidance, support, and capacity-building opportunities to project teams to enhance their performance and productivity.
3. 3. Stakeholder Engagement:
• Liaise with local authorities, community leaders, donors, and other stakeholders to solicit their involvement and support in project implementation.
• Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and consultations with stakeholders to gather feedback, share updates, and address concerns.
4. 4. Monitoring and Reporting:
• Monitor project progress and performance against established indicators and targets, identifying areas for improvement and risk mitigation.
• Prepare regular progress reports, including narrative updates and financial reports, for project management, donors, and other stakeholders.
5. 5. Budget Management:
• Assist in budget planning, monitoring, and tracking of project expenditures, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organizational financial policies.
• Work closely with the finance team to review budget forecasts, expenditure reports, and financial transactions related to the project.
6. 6. Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks and challenges to project implementation and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
• Monitor project risks and issues, proactively addressing any obstacles or delays that may arise during project ex*****on.
7. 7. Quality Assurance:
• Ensure the quality and relevance of project activities and outputs, conducting periodic reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
• Implement quality assurance measures to maintain high standards of project delivery and accountability.
Essential Criteria
8. 1. Education and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in project management, international development, business administration, or a related field.
9. 2. Project Management Experience:
• Proven experience of at least 3 years in project coordination or management, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and monitor projects effectively, with a track record of achieving results.
10. 3. Leadership and Communication Skills:
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate diverse teams.
• Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills to engage with stakeholders and resolve conflicts effectively.
11. 4. Organizational and Time Management:
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in project planning, reporting, and budget management.
12. 5. Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify challenges, evaluate options, and make sound decisions under pressure.

Project Manager (50%)
Position Title: Project Manager (50% – Part-time)
Reports to: Director of Programs / Executive Director
Duty Station: Erbil
Contract Type / Duration: Part-time – 11 months
Supervision of: Community Mobilizers, MEAL, Logistics, Finance
Languages: Kurdish, Arabic (required); English (an asset)
Purpose of the Position
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, quality assurance, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and reporting processes to ensure the project achieves its education, inclusion, and protection objectives on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and oversee detailed work plans, procurement plans, and activity calendars aligned with the project logframe.
• Coordinate with DoE/DoEYA, school administrations, camp management, and community leaders.
• Supervise field teams, set priorities, and ensure compliance with safeguarding and inclusion standards.
• Lead monthly progress reviews, identify and address implementation bottlenecks, and manage project risks.
• Ensure high-quality narrative inputs and evidence for donor reporting; validate MEAL data.
• Monitor budget versus actual expenditures with Finance; approve costs within delegated authority.
• Ensure visibility and accountability mechanisms (feedback channels, hotlines) are established and functioning effectively.
Deliverables & Performance Indicators
1. Approved work plan and risk register within the first month.
2. Monthly progress reports including achievements vs. targets and variance analysis.
3. Quarterly learning briefs summarizing lessons learned and key adaptations.
4. Timely implementation of ≥95% of planned activities; budget variance ≤10%.
5. Stakeholder coordination minutes and action trackers updated monthly.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing education or humanitarian projects, with proven team leadership.
• Strong partnership and government liaison skills; excellent planning and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in report writing; familiarity with donor compliance and safeguarding requirements.

Child Safeguarding, Do No Harm & PSEA
All staff must adhere to AOO’s Child Safeguarding Policy, PSEA Policy, and Code of Conduct. The Project Manager is responsible for promoting safe programming, ensuring appropriate reporting channels for concerns, and supporting a survivor-centered response in coordination with protection leads.
Working Conditions
• 50% time commitment, with field travel between Piramagrun/Bazyan and the Sulaymaniyah office.
• Occasional evening or weekend work aligned with community schedules.
• Standard office and field environments; compliance with HSE and security SOPs is required.
