A curriculum that did not exist
Seven modules to fill a training gap

In Tunisia, there is no vocational training pathway that combines hydroponic agriculture, cooperative entrepreneurship and a gender perspective. SHE-GROWS is building one from scratch.

📚 Work Package 3, led by EFA El Soto, will develop at least seven training modules designed for rural women in Béja and Jendouba. Not an adaptation of existing programmes, but an original curriculum shaped by the data gathered during the territorial needs assessment.

🔬 Each module integrates three dimensions: technical competence in hydroponics, principles of sustainable entrepreneurship rooted in cooperativism, and a teaching approach attentive to gender-specific realities. Because delivering agricultural training to women who have overcome cultural, social and logistical barriers simply to reach the classroom calls for a different kind of pedagogy.

✅ The curriculum will not be imposed from above. Ninety-five per cent of the modules must be validated by local stakeholders: authorities, agricultural services, women's organisations, training centres. It is the territory that confirms whether what has been designed makes sense in the context where it will be applied.

🌍 What makes this work possible is the complementarity of the consortium. EFA El Soto contributes agricultural training expertise, Libverda brings technical knowledge in hydroponics and aquaponics, OpenCom provides the methodological framework and digital tools, GIY offers applied innovation tailored to the Tunisian context, and Elemtiez ensures rootedness in local realities.

🌱 SHE-GROWS is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building project that does not only train people: it builds the tools to train with. And it builds them together with those who will use them.
