L'esperienza di gres art 671 inizia ancora prima di entrare.

Ad accogliere i visitatori è Solis Silos – nutrirsi di luce, l'installazione permanente disegnata da Mario Nanni e realizzata e illuminata da Viabizzuno. Nata per Expo Milano 2015 come luogo dedicato agli incontri e alla cultura della luce, dell'energia, della progettazione e dell'arte, oggi l'opera trova una nuova casa a gres art 671.

Qui continua a trasformarsi, intrecciandosi con la programmazione artistica e con il territorio, segnando fin dall'ingresso l'incontro tra arte, architettura e spazio pubblico.

The gres art 671 experience begins even before you step inside.

Visitors are greeted by *Solis Silos – Nourished by Light*, the permanent installation designed by Mario Nanni and created and illuminated by Viabizzuno. Created for Expo Milano 2015 as a space dedicated to encounters and the culture of light, energy, design, and art, the work has now found a new home at gres art 671.

Here, it continues to evolve, intertwining with the artistic program and the local area, marking the convergence of art, architecture, and public space right from the entrance.

Dopo le prime demolizioni, il cantiere prosegue e si delineano i contorni di un progetto entusiasmante. Per ora sono soprattutto gli spazi a raccontare il cambiamento: volumi che si aprono, prospettive inedite, la promessa di nuove possibilità.

Passo dopo passo, prende forma un nuovo capitolo del progetto di rigenerazione urbana che ha restituito un’area ex industriale alla città. Con lo sguardo rivolto all’autunno, quando questi spazi accoglieranno il pubblico.

The story of Gres Art 671 continues to unfold behind the scenes.

Following the initial demolition work, construction continues, and the contours of an exciting project are taking shape. For now, it is the spaces themselves that best illustrate the transformation: opening-up volumes, unprecedented perspectives, and the promise of new possibilities.

Step by step, a new chapter is taking shape in the urban regeneration project that has returned a former industrial area to the city. With our sights set on fall, when these spaces will welcome the public.

During this time of year, every Friday and Saturday evening, it hosts dinners by Trattoria di Pesce Cece Simo, adding a new experience to those that bring these spaces to life every day.

The spirit of gres art 671 has always been to bring people together and invite them to make new discoveries through culture in its many forms—including gastronomy.

Realizzata tra il 2022 e il 2023, Once Again (Statues Never Die) è una videoinstallazione multischermo che approfondisce il dialogo tra il filosofo Alain Locke, figura centrale dell'Harlem Renaissance, e il collezionista Albert C. Barnes.

Attraverso materiali storici, ricostruzione cinematografica e una complessa struttura visiva, Isaac Julien esplora il rapporto tra arte africana, modernismo occidentale e pratiche collezionistiche, interrogando il ruolo delle istituzioni culturali nella definizione del valore e della memoria.

L'opera è una delle cinque installazioni che compongono Museum Dreams.

Realised between 2022 and 2023, Once Again (Statues Never Die) is a multi-screen video installation that explores the dialogue between philosopher Alain Locke, a central figure of the Harlem Renaissance, and collector Albert C. Barnes.

Through archival materials, cinematic reconstruction and a complex visual structure, Isaac Julien examines the relationship between African art, Western modernism and collecting practices, questioning the role of cultural institutions in shaping value, meaning and memory.

The work is one of the five installations that make up Museum Dreams.

In memoria di David Hockney.

Nel 2025 gres art 671 ha avuto il privilegio di collaborare con Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi e Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella alla presentazione di Annunciation II, After Fra Angelico, opera con cui David Hockney ha reinterpretato uno dei capolavori di Beato Angelico, mettendo in dialogo uno dei grandi maestri del Rinascimento con una delle voci più autorevoli dell’arte contemporanea.

L’influenza di Hockney attraversa anche il lavoro di Sir Isaac Julien, protagonista dell’attuale mostra Museum Dreams. Julien ha spesso ricordato quanto l’opera dell’artista britannico sia stata importante per la sua ricerca, fino a diventare un riferimento diretto per The Long Road to Mazatlán (1999), lavoro ispirato alle celebri immagini delle piscine che hanno reso iconico l’immaginario di Hockney.

In 2025, gres art 671 had the privilege of collaborating with Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi and Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella on the presentation of Annunciation II, After Fra Angelico, the monumental work through which David Hockney reinterpreted one of Fra Angelico’s masterpieces, bringing into dialogue one of the great masters of the Renaissance with one of the most influential voices in contemporary art.

Hockney’s influence also runs through the work of Sir Isaac Julien, whose exhibition Museum Dreams is currently on view at gres art 671. Julien has often spoken about the importance of Hockney’s work to his own artistic research, to the point that it became a direct reference for The Long Road to Mazatlán (1999), a film inspired by the iconic swimming pool imagery that has become synonymous with Hockney’s visual world.
