Lunedì 13 maggio si terrà il terzo appuntamento della Rassegna Cinema & Architettura – “Il mondo in una Stanza”, organizzata dal dipartimento di Architettura in collaborazione con la Cineteca di Bologna. La rassegna quest’anno si terrà negli spazi del Cinema Modernissimo. Un terzo appuntamento d’eccezione, con un film imperdibile.

Dodici giurati devono decidere il destino di un ragazzo accusato di parricidio. Uno di essi (Henry Fonda, in uno dei suoi ruoli chiave) instilla il dubbio. La parola e il raziocinio portano la verità e schiantano il pregiudizio. Straordinaria la tensione che si crea in unità temporale e in un'unica stanza, mentre fuori scroscia la pioggia dell'estate newyorkese; Sidney Lumet usa l’architettura in modo quasi espressionista per rendere letterale, attraverso un meccanismo scenografico-architettonico, il senso dell’avvicinarsi di una fine che sembra inevitabile. Nella ricostruzione degli eventi, un ragionamento su struttura e orientamento degli spazi diventa fondamentale per la svolta narrativa.

I biglietti saranno disponibili a partire da giovedì 9 maggio. Al termine dei 50 biglietti gratuiti gli studenti potranno comunque partecipare acquistando il biglietto direttamente in biglietteria.

The film will be in the original language with subtitles in Italian language.
Twelve jurors must decide the fate of a boy accused of patricide. One of them (Henry Fonda, in one of his key roles) instils doubt. Speech and reasoning bring truth and crush prejudice. The tension that is created in the unity of time and in a single room, while outside the rain of the New York summer is pelting down; Sidney Lumet uses architecture in an almost expressionist manner to render literal, through a scenographic-architectural mechanism, the sense of the approach of an end that seems inevitable. In the reconstruction of events, reasoning about the structure and orientation of spaces becomes fundamental to the narrative turn.

Tickets :

· Free of charge for the first 50 students of the Building Engineering-Architecture, Architecture-Engineering and Building Engineering-Architecture courses who collect their tickets at the Film Library Bookshop on presentation of their ID card and their course enrolment certificate for the year 2023/24 (Info Bookshop hours https://cinetecadibologna.it/luogo/bookshop-della-cineteca-di-bologna/). Tickets will be available from the 9nd of May. At the end of the 50 free tickets, students will still be able to participate by purchasing the reduced ticket at the ticket office.
· 3,5 euros for all Unibo students (at ticket office)
