🆕📰 Positive Misano Race 1 for Sofuoglu and Rato, close to the points zone

The Superpole took place late in the morning under hot and sunny conditions. At the end of the 15-minute session, Rato posted a lap time of 1’33.387 to finish 18th, while Sofuoglu’s 1’33.464 secured 20th place.

With these results, the two riders started Race 1 from the sixth and seventh rows of the grid respectively. The race got underway in the afternoon over a distance of 21 laps.
Mattia did not make a particularly strong start and was forced to fight his way back through the field, eventually finishing 17th.

Bahattin maintained a consistent pace throughout the race and crossed the finish line in 16th place, just a few tenths of a second away from the points-paying positions.

Sandro Carusi - Team Principal 🗣️ “It was not an easy day because, due to the heat, the setup of our bikes did not work as well as it had in Superpole and the free practice sessions. The team and the riders gave their maximum effort, and in the race we came very close to the points zone. We will now evaluate the data we collected in order to be more competitive in tomorrow’s two races.”

🗣️ “The start of the day was positive. We got off to a good start in FP3 using worn tyres, and when we switched to the soft tyres the bike was working well. We kept the same setup for Superpole, but strangely the bike did not perform as it had before. The bike was also difficult to ride during the race, but I never gave up and maintained my pace until the finish. We are now analyzing the data, and I am confident that my team will find a better setup for tomorrow’s two races.”

🗣️ “It was a day of ups and downs. This morning we tried some new things, but then we decided to return to the setup we had used at Aragón and things improved. Superpole went well, but unfortunately in Race 1, partly because of the extreme heat, I could not find a good feeling with the bike. It was difficult to ride and I made a few mistakes that affected the final result. For tomorrow, we need to find a good setup that will allow us to perform well in both the Superpole Race and Race 2.”

The Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team heads to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for Round 07 of the WorldSBK Championship, racing on home soil in front of Italian fans, partners and supporters.

Misano is more than just another round. It’s where passion, hard work and determination come together in an atmosphere unlike any other.

Every lap carries extra meaning, every battle is fought with even more heart.

After the first half of the season, the team arrives in Emilia-Romagna ready to continue its growth and take on one of the most iconic circuits on the calendar.

#54 and #13 are prepared to give everything in front of the home crowd, pushing from the very first session and fighting for every position until the checkered flag.
