I always love working in Siena, it’s magical, charming,pocket size and unique. A thin edge between magnificent and overwhelming… shall we ?? Andiamo!

Do you know how important SALT was in the past? How many cities where conquered in the name of salt? Once used as a form of payment for workers ( from where it comes the word “salary” btw)was needed to cure the meat and also to fix pigments on fabrics, a true multiple purpose natural product. In the early 20th and late 19th century also very important combined with “china” to produced the only know remedy for malaria, the chinino. Today the Saline di Volterra in part of the Locatelli group from Brescia and they now give the possibility to experience a visit inside the factory, to learn how the history and evolution of salt extraction and also to taste their local beer produced in within the factory, of course with a pinch of salt! And you?? Have you ever visited a Sal’s factory?? A fun experience for kinds, families but not only! Andiamo!

Today I want to take to a unique location, to show you wha love and attention for details can create.
