A Quiet Place to Sit

He sits
in a spot he knows.

Not silent-
just far enough
to soften the noise.

Ten meters from his door.
Halfway down the steps.
Close to everything-
removed from it all.

He opens what he’s holding—
a book,
or maybe just a screen—
and starts reading.

No rush to finish.
No reason to move.

Voices pass above him.
Cars roll somewhere beyond.

But not here.

He turns a page.
Or scrolls.

Same motion.
Same pause.

And for a little while,
that’s all he asks—

to sit,
to read,
to stay
right where he is.

Framed Belief

Everything here is framed.

Stone around sky.
Columns around people.
Windows around a single man speaking from above.

Even belief—
boxed in,
lifted up,
projected outward.

You don’t just walk into this place.
You’re guided.
Directed.
Told where to stand,
where to look,
what matters.

Look closer—

The statues don’t move.
The building doesn’t change.
But the crowd never stops shifting.

Thousands of lives,
stacked beneath something permanent—
waiting for meaning
to come from above.

And maybe that’s the point.

Not the structure.
Not the ceremony.
Not even the voice on the screen.

But the space in between—

where people gather,
question,
hope,
and decide for themselves
what any of it actually means.
