San Galgano, the power of ruins.

San Galgano Abbey is a crumbling Cistercian abbey in the municipality of Chiusdino (Siena), of which only the walls are visible today. It is an unusual destination: an open-air abbey, inside which you can see the Hermitage of Montesiepi, that is linked to a fascinating story. It is said, in fact, that the knight Galgano Guidotti, after a life of debauchery, dedicated himself to penitence and hermitism right on the hill of Montesiepi, where he drove his sword into the ground.
