Matelica, the land of Verdicchio 🥂

My tasting knowledge of Verdicchio di Matelica was fairly limited so far to a few wine producers of the area.

I have had the fortune to be able to discover more this weekend thanks to the Matelica Wine Festival. Matelica Wine Festival

Yesterday, they had the inauguration dinner under the loggia in the central square of the town. There, we could taste mainly younger vintages of Verdicchio di Matelica - 2020 and 2021 - there were a couple of 2019 and 2018 too.

I also ran into the oenologist Goffredo Agostini who it turns out collaborates with the Matelica winery .
