For more than twenty years, Greubel Forsey pursued an idea of perfection without ever giving it a name. Today, that philosophy takes shape in the Balancier QM, the first timepiece to embody the new Qualité Musée standard.

Housed in a 39.60 mm white gold case, the Balancier QM captivates with its three-dimensional architecture. The large 12.60 mm in-house variable-inertia balance wheel takes centre stage, while the multi-level rhodium-coloured gold dial features hours and minutes, small seconds and the brand’s signature power-reserve display. Every element, from the GF logo and minute track to the small seconds and power-reserve indications, is hand-engraved and lacquered, creating a remarkable interplay of depth, light and craftsmanship.

The hand-wound manufacture movement, composed of 298 components, features twin coaxial series-coupled barrels, a fully in-house manufactured hairspring, and a newly developed escapement with a bi-level escape wheel and convex pallet jewels. Yet what truly defines this timepiece is its uncompromising level of hand finishing, applied with the same care to both visible and hidden components.

Limited to just 33 pieces, the Balancier QM is more than a new Greubel Forsey. It is the purest expression of a philosophy that will shape the future of the manufacture.

Qualité Musée is the new standard through which Greubel Forsey defines its vision of perfection. In your opinion, which other watchmakers can genuinely claim a comparable level of hand finishing?

There are details that almost go unnoticed. And then there are those that completely change the story of a watch.

This Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 3893J from 1986 not only bears the signature Patek Philippe Genève, but also that of Beyer Zürich, the historic Swiss retailer and one of the most respected names in watchmaking.
That is the allure of a double signed dial: a watch that, beyond its beauty, carries an extra layer of provenance and tells the story of a special relationship between a Maison and one of its most important historical partners.

A small signature inside the subsidiary seconds dial, yet one that makes an already timeless Calatrava even rarer and more meaningful.
