The "Poetic Hotel" is an installation set up in Padova, inside an abandoned hotel, is an inaccessible placel.

I was about eight years old, and my parents and I would often visit my grandmother, passing along Via Sorio in Padua.
Along the way, there was a small hotel I would look at every time.
I was drawn to the warm light of the reception, soft, almost suspended.
In a city that felt darker than it does today, that place seemed quiet, still, reassuring.
In the meantime, I have traveled the world, yet that memory has remained intact.
These days, in the window of that hotel, I have placed an “eight-year-old child” looking outside.
That hotel is now the Poetic Hotel.
Only now I am on the other side,
inside, watching the world pass by that same window.

Photo Open Up will open today.
The Poetic Hotel photographic project for Photo Open Up 2022 is entitled "Let the light pass", a photo story that invites us to return in the hotel rooms, as if we still live in the 1997, the year of the definitive closure to the public for this Hotel, as if the time that has passed since then had never existed. These shots are a selection of images of two photographic projects made by the photographers Daniele Bozzano Photographer and Giovanni Canova inside the hotel, between 2019 and 2022, used for the drafting of a book that is about to be published.

"crystallized"
The room that connected me to the Poetic, the one where, for the first time, I felt the energy that moves inside the hotel.
The darkness, the dust, the musty smell in this room have become time, memories, poetry.
Here the idea of the Poetic Hotel was born.
The Set Up:
It looks like an abandoned and empty room.
Unlike the others rooms it seems that nothing has been touched here, but it is not.
This installation has the peculiarity of being almost invisible, the work is perceived to the touch, it is sensitive to air movements and to the hotel vibrations.
So I tried to give back to a hypothetical visitor that feeling I had during my first inspections, the feeling about something percievle without being able to see it.

La stanza che mi ha connesso al Poetic, quella dove, per la prima volta, ho percepito l'energia che si muove all'interno dell'hotel.
Il buio, la polvere, l'odore di muffa in questa stanza sono diventati tempo, ricordi, poesia.
Qui é nata l'idea del Poetic Hotel
L'installazione:
Sembra una stanza abbandonata, vuota.
A differenza delle altre, sembra che qui nulla sia stato toccato, ma non è così.
Questa installazione ha la peculiarità di essere quasi invisibile, l'opera si percepisce al tatto, è sensibile agli spostamenti d'aria, alle vibrazioni dell'hotel.
Così ho cercato di restituire ad un ipotetico visitatore quella mia sensazione avuta durante i primi sopralluoghi, quel sentire qualcosa senza poterlo vedere.
"tempo cristallizzato"
racconta il passato che non abbiamo vissuto,
il tempo futuro che non vivremo.
L'Io che non è stato,
L'Io che non sarà.
