🏝Between the environment, the sea and the rule of law: the international camp in Isola delle Femmine!

For over twenty years, our partner Associazione InformaGiovani and the Palermo branch of LIPU have been working together to run this volunteer camp, which serves as a beacon for environmental protection and civic engagement. Our international volunteers, together with staff from Lipu Sezione Di Palermo and Addiopizzo Travel, are enjoying an incredible experience that combines caring for a nature reserve with Sicily’s historical heritage, set against the backdrop of the sea and the mainland.

The project is being carried out on two complementary fronts:

🌊 On the island (the Nature Reserve):
Every morning, the group makes the boat crossing to the uninhabited island to support the staff of the Oriented Nature Reserve. Activities are currently in full swing:
🔹 Reconstruction of footpaths: restoring the stone paths destroyed by the fury of Hurricane Harry;
🔹 Biodiversity conservation: repopulating the local flora by planting new species and tending to the vegetation;
🔹 Tackling plastic pollution: clearing the coastline of rubbish washed up by storm surges and restoring structures for local wildlife damaged by the bad weather.

🌍 On land (Culture and the Rule of Law):
The participants’ commitment extends beyond the island; in collaboration with Addiopizzo Travel, the group supports the activities of MuST23, the interactive and immersive museum dedicated to the memory of the Capaci massacre. Here, volunteers look after the museum’s green spaces, help organise cultural events and facilitate workshops on the climate crisis, social justice and the fight against the Mafia.

A generational and transnational bridge which, year after year, continues to demonstrate how the protection of the local area and active remembrance always go hand in hand.

By connecting a 20-year history of environmental protection with local justice movements our network continues to empower young people to become active guardians of both biodiversity and democratic values.

♻️✊ Solidarity, inclusion, sharing and the circular economy, activism and interculturalism: the Emmaus community in Quarrata!

The international volunteering camp at the Emmaus Community in Quarrata (Tuscany),coordinated by Associazione InformaGiovani, has come to an end.
It was an intense, deeply enriching journey that successfully combined hands-on environmental regeneration with meaningful social reflection, transforming both spaces and people.

Throughout the project, participants fully immersed themselves in community life:
🔹 Regeneration and creative reuse: working side-by-side with community residents, volunteers took part in sorting materials, managing the public solidarity flea market, and driving circular economy actions;
🔹 Social commitment and human rights: the camp served as a real laboratory for active citizenship. The group joined a solidarity visit to a trade union picket line in Prato to understand the realities of labour exploitation and discuss social justice with local networks.

A huge thank you to the Emmaus Community in Quarrata for their warm hospitality, and to all the international volunteers for the incredible energy, open-mindedness, and cooperation they showed from day one! 🌍

🎲🌍 Changing the rules of the game for climate action!

Over the last few days we were in Palermo, at our local partner Associazione InformaGiovani for the partnership meeting for the "Give Climate a Chance" project brought together teams from InformaGiovani, Share Europe, Ambitia Institute, Equação, Crl, and Radi Vidi Pats. It was an inspiring session centered around initiative, innovation, and environmental literacy.

We are currently co-creating an educational, game-based tool designed to help individuals understand, track, and reduce their daily carbon footprint.

Through this initiative, we are focusing on:
🔹 Using gamification as a powerful tool to translate complex climate data into engaging daily habits;
🔹 Empowering citizens with the practical knowledge needed to make sustainable choices;
🔹 Fostering international cooperation to tackle shared global environmental challenges.

🧠 Preparatory meeting finalized: getting ready for "Understanding emotions through senses"!

From June 15th to 18th, 2026, group leaders from Italy, Estonia, Serbia, and Turkey gathered for the preparatory meeting of the upcoming Erasmus+ youth exchange, hosted by Associazione Solidarietà ODV - Prizzi .
Youth exchange that aims to promote socio-emotional learning and psychological well-being among young people by encouraging them to recognise their strengths and personal resources and challenging common myths surrounding mental health.

Together with our partners Associazione InformaGiovani, MTÜ EstYES , Pi Gençlik Derneği , and Novotarium Požarevac , we successfully:
🔹 Finalized the project's educational goals and daily activities;
🔹 Shared group management guidelines to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
