The webinar presented project results, highlighted inspiring good practices, and officially launched the European Rural Network, which will remain active as a collaborative space for rural sustainability beyond the project. 🌱🤝

🌍 Fighting climate change requires two key strategies:
🛑 Mitigation – reducing the causes (like emissions)
✅ Adaptation – adjusting to the impacts (like heatwaves and floods)

🌾 SURF focuses on climate adaptation in rural areas, supporting local communities to become more resilient in the face of today’s climate challenges.

🌾 Droughts in rural areas primarily threaten agriculture (crops and livestock), water supply, and the livelihoods of local communities.

💧SURF supports training on climate-resilient farming such as drought-resistant crops, smart irrigation, rainwater harvesting.

Elderly populations, limited infrastructure, and fragile ecosystems make these territories especially vulnerable.

Last week, InEuropa - Finanziamenti Europei hosted by Fondazione Castello di Padernello , organised the workshop “𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑙𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑐𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑖𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑟𝑢𝑟𝑎𝑙 𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑠 - 𝑎𝑑𝑎𝑝𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑔𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑜𝑝𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑢𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒” with the rural community of Bassa Bresciana🌾
💬 Through dialogue and open discussion, we shared good practices and existing projects already active in the area, jointly analysing their strengths and weaknesses. Participants from a variety of backgrounds contributed with concrete experiences and valuable insights, helping to build a collective vision for tackling the challenges of climate change with creativity and collaboration. 🌍
