Among the elements examined during a cause for canonization is what is known as the reputation for holiness.
This expression describes the way a person continues to be remembered after death by those who knew their story or were touched by their witness. It arises when the memory of a person's life remains associated with faith, charity, service, and fidelity to the Gospel.
Over the years, many communities continue to pass on these stories, preserve memories, share testimonies, and turn to prayer inspired by the example of these individuals.
A reputation for holiness is a sign that a life continues to bear fruit. It reveals that the witness left behind remains alive in the memory and lived faith of many people.
💬 Is there someone whose life story continues to inspire you today?

The beatification ceremony of Father Francis Xavier Truong Buu Diep took place on July 2, 2026, at the Tac Say Pilgrimage Center in the Diocese of Can Tho, Vietnam. Presided over by Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Special Envoy of Pope Leo XIV, the celebration brought together dozens of bishops, priests, men and women religious, and more than 70,000 faithful, marking the first beatification ceremony ever held in the history of the Catholic Church in Vietnam. Although the new Blessed was not a Missionary Oblate of Mary Immaculate, his Cause for Beatification was entrusted to and accompanied by the General Postulation of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (O.M.I.). Fr. Cleber Lopes, the General Postulator and Fr. Roland Jacques OMI, vice Postulator were present at the celebration. In one of the photographs, he is pictured alongside Fr.
