The Spanish Steps reopened yesterday after an almost year-long closure for restorations. One of the finest views of the square and the steps was drawn and engraved by the famous artist Giovanni Battista Piranesi, who lived just around the corner, at nr. 48 of Via Sistina. My antiquarian bookshop is just a few blocks away, at nr. 23 of the same road, where you may examine many of his beautiful prints.
