👨‍🚀 On February 11, we had the pleasure of hosting in I3P the European start-up Space Cargo Unlimited to talk about microgravity and its opportunities.

🎤 After an introduction by Giuseppe Scellato, President of I3P and Coordinator of ESA BIC Turin, a keynote about the new market and research opportunities offered by access to microgravity environments was held by Nicolas Gaume, Co-Founder & CEO of Space Cargo Unlimited, and the company's roadmap for the future was showcased by Mathieu Goudot, Chief Revenue Officer.

🤝 The audience took the chance to ask several questions to learn more about the topic and the possibilities for collaboration with their companies, among which space start-ups, leading corporates and research institutions. At the end of the event, the representatives exchanged contact details, which could lead to new interactions and to the creation of new business opportunities.

📣 During a public event held on December 15, I3P announced its "Start-ups of the Year" 2025: congratulations to Focoos AI and Novac, both supported by ESA BIC Turin!

🏆 The two awarded start-ups were selected ex aequo, from among all the young companies that completed their incubation paths in 2025, for their outstanding technological advancements and entrepreneurial results. Focoos AI stands out for its high-efficiency computer vision solutions and artificial intelligence models optimized for reduced resource consumption, while Novac produces disruptive supercapacitors that ensure high power, immediate energy, and ultra-fast recharging.

🎤 Giuseppe Scellato, President of I3P and Coordinator of ESA BIC Turin, said: "This year we are celebrating two companies that exemplify the incubator's ability to accompany high-tech entrepreneurial initiatives towards industrial and financial maturity. Novac and Focoos AI confirm the solidity and quality of the ecosystem we are building, together with our local partners and the community of institutions, entrepreneurs, and investors that has been accompanying us for over 25 years."

🎂 ESA BIC Turin celebrates four years of activity: the results achieved so far by the program and its community of space start-ups confirm its strategic value for the growth of the regional aerospace sector.

🚀 Since the launch of the local Business Incubation Centre (BIC) in 2021, more than 30 young companies with innovative projects in the Space Economy have been attracted to Turin and have raised a total of more than €24 million in private investment, including from international investors.

🎤 Luca del Monte, Head of Commercialisation Department at European Space Agency (ESA), commented: "In just four years, ESA BIC Turin has established itself as a strategic gateway for space innovation in Europe. Turin is emerging not only as one of Italy's leading hubs for space technologies, but also as a key driver of competitiveness in the European space ecosystem. We are proud of this achievement and look forward to further expanding our impact together with our partners."

🤝 Augusto Cramarossa, Head of Strategic Coordination Office at Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (ASI), said: “The Italian Space Agency considers support for start-ups and incubators to be a key lever for the growth of the national space economy. The results achieved by ESA BIC Turin highlight the strategic value of these tools in generating investment and skilled employment. 👏 Congratulations to Adaptronics, Italian deep-tech start-up specializing in electro-adhesive grippers for robotic systems with industrial automation and space applications, for the successful closing of a €3.15 million round!

🚀 The round was led by European venture capital fund 360 Capital, alongside Galaxia, the Technology Transfer Hub for Aerospace, created by CDP Venture Capital’s Tech Transfer fund together with Obloo Ventures, which had already invested in the pre-seed round in 2023.

🤖 In 2024 the start-up completed the incubation program of ESA BIC Turin, managed by I3P - the Innovative Companies Incubator of Politecnico di Torino - in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (ASI), Politecnico di Torino and LINKS Foundation. With its breakthrough technology, Adaptronics is setting new standards in robotic manipulation and positioning itself at the forefront of a rapidly evolving global market.

🎤 "This round marks a significant milestone for Adaptronics", explained Lorenzo Agostini, CEO of AdapTronics. "It shows investors’ trust in our vision of a deep-tech company developing an enabling technology that spans multiple industries. It will help us speed up our technological innovation path, expand our facilities with a pilot plant, and strengthen the international reach of our products."

🤝 Among the partners of the incubation program, there are renowned institutions such as CIM4.0 Competence Center, Centro Italiano Ricerche Aerospaziali - CIRA, Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Fondazione E. Amaldi, INFN - Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, INRiM - Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica, ISTITUTO ITALIANO DI TECNOLOGIA, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Università degli Studi di Torino.
