As passionate glass art lovers; we often tend to view glass art in terms of glass art pieces crafted by the glass masters. The techniques used in the crafting of the piece, quality and origin of the glass used, where and by whom it is crafted, the shape of the piece and finally its aesthetic beauty and market price have been the frequent perspective.
FOCUS ON GLASS online photography exhibit aims to bring a different perspective to glass work with more focus and concentration on inseperable concepts of glass art, like movement of hands, craftmanship, the studio atmosphere, tools, colors and patters created, as well as feelings reflected.
During August 2020, after Covid-19 hit hard the glass world and especially Murano; we as Artisans Atelier and 2S DesignArt have materialized photo shoots in collaboration with world famous glass masters in Murano; namely Davide Salvadore & MaMa Salvadore.
Using the power of photography as an art and this unique perspective; we wanted to create a new eye for appreciating glass art. FOCUS ON GLASS online photo exhibit is the outcome of a mutual passion for glass as a material. The photo exhibit aims to increase the valuing and recognition of glasswork and glassmasters in Murano.
FOCUS ON GLASS constitutes of 3 main themes:
1) CRAFTMANSHIP – Mama Salvadore
2) THE GLASS STUDIO – Mama Salvadore
3) COLORS – PATTERNS – Davide Salvadore Glasswork
