L’Ecume II

One of the last few channel boats around, a lot of history behind this vessel.

MFV L’Ecume II fishes locally around the Channel Islands. The vessel is a single propellor shelter deck trawler boat, with two winches for hauling the trawl. A trawl is a net that is pulled behind the vessel just above the sea bed. Held down by water resistance, and two trawl doors spreading it apart. If the net sits to low on the bed we tear apart the nets and then have to fix them to continue fishing or go home. neither is desired so we do not like to be to close to bottom like a lot of people suggest.

This vessel has been skipped by the same captain for 20+ years and knows his way around the waters as far as 200 nautical miles radius+! sometime the search for fish is a difficult challenge, sometimes you just catch sea w**d! But when its in your blood you keep looking and by love and passion success comes at the right time if your patient enough, and we fisherman are very good at that! ha.

The company has decided its time to deliver the best fish to the local public of jersey not the markets abroad, mainland and such markets alike. Shortly the fish box will be back into business provided with fish directly from our own vessel. Not only that, for the people who prefer to have there food delivered we are going to do that too!
