We’re excited to welcome the newest member of the Genesis AV team, Alex Blackwell!

As Head of Commercial Growth, he brings nearly 20 years of IT experience and a strong background in building and scaling tech businesses. Focused on connecting client needs with the right solutions, he’s passionate about driving collaboration, efficiency, and long-term growth for our clients and partners.

Q) What is your job title and main responsibilities?
A) I am Head of Commercial Growth. My role bridges the gap between client needs and technical delivery, helping organisations improve collaboration, connectivity, and operational efficiency, while supporting Genesis’ growth across Connect and Corporate services. By building long-term partnerships and identifying opportunities for recurring and scalable services, I work to drive sustainable revenue growth and maximise value for both clients and the business.

Q) What did you do previously to joining Genesis?
A) I’ve been in IT for nearly 20 years, but over the last decade I’ve been focused on building and scaling my own local IT businesses. I’ve always enjoyed working closely with clients and finding practical ways technology can align to their Business strategy, making a real difference to their business, clients and employees.

Q) What are some of the most interesting jobs/projects you have worked on?
A) One of the most exciting aspects of my work is that every client has unique requirements and challenges. This has given me exposure to a wide range of projects and people. I find real satisfaction in partnering with clients on their journey, helping them achieve their goals, and then working strategically with them to drive continuous improvement and long-term growth.

Q) What made you want to become part of the Genesis team?
A) There were two key reasons. Firstly, the vision, values, and culture of Genesis strongly align with my own. It’s clear the team is driven by a genuine ambition to deliver an exceptional client experience. Secondly, the breadth of technology, solutions, and services available enables the team to deliver outstanding outcomes for clients. If you haven’t experienced it first-hand, you’re missing out.

Q) What are you looking forward to most about working at Genesis?
A) I’m looking forward to making a positive impact within Genesis and for its clients, working alongside an exceptional team, and seeing the results we deliver, whether through individual projects or long-term partnerships.

Q) Where would we usually find you outside of work?
A) When I’m not busy keeping up with my son, I enjoy spending time with family and friends or taking part in sports. During the winter, you’ll usually find me training in the gym, while in the summer I’m often at Les Quennevais, the UK, Europe or America playing Softball.

Q) Give us a fun fact about yourself.
A) I am a SCUBA Divemaster, so if you can’t reach me, there’s a good chance I’m taking some time away from the hustle and bustle of surface life.

Well known across the industry for his work in fibre rollouts, structured cabling, Wi-Fi and CCTV installations, Liam White brings a wealth of experience and a strong reputation for quality.

Q) What is your job title and main responsibilities?
A) I’m a Structured Cabling Engineer, and my role is quite varied. My main responsibilities include the installation of all data cabling systems, working with both single mode and multi mode fibre links, delivering Wi-Fi solutions, and carrying out CCTV installations across a range of environments.

Q) What did you do previously to joining Genesis?
A) I spent 10 years with JT, starting out on the gigabit fibre rollout before moving into the structured cabling team. After that, I spent five years self-employed, providing Wi-Fi systems, CCTV installations, and general data cabling services

Q) What are some of the most interesting jobs/projects you have worked on?
A) Being involved in the Fibre to the Home network rollout across Jersey and Guernsey. Working in both residential and commercial settings meant I found myself installing in some truly unique and interesting locations.

Q) What made you want to become part of the Genesis team?
A) Genesis stood out to me as a business with a strong reputation and a clear commitment to quality work which really aligned with my own values.

Q) What are you looking forward to most about working at Genesis?
A) I’m looking forward to working alongside a strong, experienced team and contributing my own skill set to help the business. I’m also keen to learn new skills along the way and continue developing professionally at Genesis.

Q) Where would we usually find you outside of work?
A) Believe it or not, in the kitchen. I’m an avid baker, and in my experience, kneading dough is much cheaper than therapy! Which I usually require being an Arsenal fan.

Q) Give us a fun fact about yourself.
A) I’m a bit of a petrolhead, I used to own a Rally spec 1978 Mk2 Es**rt and won the prestigious Jersey Rally handbrake award in 2014. Going fast < Going sideways , IYKYK
