A huge thankyou to our wonderful foraging team yesterday 🌱
We started with wild blackberry crumble bars with fig leaf tea, before walking through the woods picking, tasting and learning about:
Yarrow, hawthorn, naval pennywort, dock leaves, wood avens, common sorrel and wood sorrel, ground elder, stinging nettles, sweet violets and dandelion.
We then headed back to Wild Health HQ where we added daisy leaf, sheep sorrel and yellow archangel to our list of wild plants and our foragers headed out into the edible forest to pick nettles, haw berries and as many apples as they could carry :)
Lunch was nettle soup, pennywort canapés, and a giant wild buffet including all the plants we had learnt about.
Then we started chopping, weighing, simmering, and a lot of sieving! before producing sloe gin, damson & apple jam, candied rosehips, fermented blackberry syrup and eventually hawthorn ketchup!
Our day finished with a nettle & yarrow cake and some beautiful new friendships made ✨
Thankyou all so much for coming, Gemma & Chloe x
