๐ June is Pride Month
Pride Month is a time to recognise the challenges still faced by many in the LGBTQ+ community and to show support for equality, acceptance, and human rights. Itโs also a chance to celebrate the diversity of sexual orientations and gender identities that enrich our workplaces and communities.
We remain committed to promoting inclusion, respect, and fairness for all. ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
Alex works as a customer service advisor in a medium-sized organisation. They have worked there for three years and are generally seen as reliable and engaged.
Over several months, Alex begins to feel increasingly overwhelmed. Workloads have increased, and staffing levels are stretched.
Alex starts arriving late, appears tired, and becomes withdrawn in team meetingsโcommon signs that could indicate mental health struggles at work.

โOpen the Conversation & Remove the Stigmaโ
When workplaces actively engage with Mental Health Awareness, something powerful happens.
โ
Conversations become more open.
โ
Stigma begins to fade.
โ
People feel safer being themselves at work.
Across Jersey, organisations have the opportunity to build more inclusive, supportive cultures: not just this month, but every day.
Because normalising mental health conversations doesnโt just support individuals - it strengthens entire teams.
Letโs keep the conversation going.

โTake Action to Make Changesโ
Mental Health Awareness Month isnโt just about awareness - itโs about action.
For workplaces in Jersey, that means creating environments rooted in empathy and support.
Action can look like:
โ
Making time for meaningful conversations
โ
Training managers to respond with empathy
โ
Creating spaces where people feel safe to speak up
Awareness starts the conversation. Action is what changes culture.
What one action could your workplace can take this week?

Liberation Day 2026 falls on a Saturday.
This means that there is no alternate date (bank holiday) granted in lieu.
Whilst Liberation Day remains a statutory public holiday in Jersey, when it falls on a Saturday, it is not transferred to a weekday.
For those employees for whom Saturday is a normal working day, the usual rules for public/bank holidays remain in place.
Wishing everyone a great Liberation Day 2026.

โThe Ripple Effectโ
Mental health impacts everyone: in every role, at every level.
In workplaces across Jersey, itโs something we all experience, whether directly or through colleagues, friends, or family.
Recognising this is the first step toward building a culture where people feel supported, not isolated.
Because when we understand that mental health is everyoneโs business, we create workplaces that work better for everyone.
Start by checking in with your team this week.

The theme for 2026 is โ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ง๐ผ ๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ปโ focusing on the power of collaboration and generosity to support and open up opportunities for women. Whether this support is through advocacy or tangible action, breaking down barriers opens routes to equality.
Giving isnโt about losing it is about multiplying as when organisations invest in women and open opportunities, we can all rise.
