Legacies endure through the people who carry them forward. 💙

The JDC Entwine Ralph I. Goldman (RIG) Fellowship is JDC’s premier leadership opportunity, awarded to one emerging leader each year. Recently, our 2026 Fellow, Hillel Debow, had the unique opportunity to meet Judy Goldman, the daughter of Ralph Goldman, whose name and legacy inspire the Fellowship.

Ralph Goldman — JDC’s Honorary Executive Vice President — helped build the State of Israel and dedicated his life to strengthening Jewish communities around the world. His vision and leadership continue to shape Jewish life today.

Over coffee in Israel, Hillel and Judy spoke not only about Ralph’s remarkable professional accomplishments, but also about the person behind them. Judy shared how Ralph could connect with anyone, how his background as a social worker informed his leadership, and how deeply Jewish identity and communal responsibility were woven into every aspect of his life.

Hillel left the conversation even more inspired by Ralph’s legacy and grateful to be part of a Fellowship connected to his name.

Antisemitism is rising across Europe, especially in Amsterdam, where Achira Beck — co-president of the Dutch Union of Jewish Students (DUJS) — has experienced it firsthand. In his role at DUJS, Beck, 28, helps lead the charge against the tide of hate sweeping his city.

In our latest JDC Voices blog post, he paints a detailed picture of what antisemitism looks like today and how JDC empowers him and other young Jewish leaders to deal with its consequences.

When we work together, we can build stronger, more connected, and sustainable Jewish communities.

Last month, the Board of the JDC-supported KEDEM Jacobs JCC in Chișinău visited Budapest for an intensive study experience with the JDC-supported JCC Budapest - Bálint Ház and a wide network of partner organizations.

More than a visit, the program offered meaningful peer exchange and deep dives into leadership, governance, and community-building — while also fostering strong collaboration and lasting connections across communities.

Last year, the Jews of Manchester, UK, endured a catastrophic Yom Kippur attack that upended their sense of safety. Marc Levy was right at the epicenter of this horrific event.

As Chief Executive of the Jewish Representative Council of Greater Manchester & Region (JRCGMR), Levy helps strengthen Jewish life across one of England’s largest cities and beyond. On that awful day, he and his team jumped into action, fielding calls, delivering support, and ensuring that Jews in need were cared for.

It was in this context that Levy recently attended the 6th Summit of European Jewish Leaders in Athens, Greece — a partnership between JDC and the ECJC - European Council of Jewish Communities. There, Levy found a network of Jewish changemakers with whom he exchanged knowledge, discussed common issues, and charted a more hopeful path forward.

In our latest JDC Voices blog post, he opens up about the attacks and what made the conference so invaluable. Read here: https://bit.ly/4vymhaf
