Plastic bags and take-out containers officially banned in Gainesville Starting August first, residents of Gainesville will need to keep their plastic bags or buy a reusable one. Wednesday night, Gainesville City Commission unanimously voted to do away with single-use plastic bags and polystyrene containers.
