Being on a traveling theatrical 🎭 show is an enormous amount of work and when a day off finally comes, sometimes all you want to do is rest 🛌 , but I am forever grateful for the amazing friends that invited me on this French 🇫🇷 excursion.

We got up early, hopped in a rental car 🚗 and were able to watch the sun ☀️ rise at the magical Mont Saint-Michel.

This majestic spot is a 📍 UNESCO World Heritage Site in Normandy, France, renowned for its amazing abbey perched atop a rocky peak. Its most defining characteristic is its extreme coastal environment, featuring the highest tides in continental Europe which regularly transform the site from a mainland-accessible hill into a completely isolated island 🏝️. It is an impregnable stronghold that remained completely unconquered throughout the Hundred Years’ War.

Would you visit this spectacle?

I don’t want to just hear about history, I want to experience it and Battleship ⚓️ Cove is the perfect spot for an immersive experience! 🤩

The whole family climbed through ships and a submarine to see how sailors really lived on the high seas. Beware: 😳 Though this is an awesome activity, it is not very accessible for those with mobility issues as there are steep stairs and steps up through passages throughout.

My number 1 tip: There are a plethora of outdoor exhibits, so pick a fair weather 🌞 day to get the most out of your visit.

I could skip dinner and make a meal of all the amazing snacks 😋 at Dunn’s Rum Club at Sandals Dunn’s River.

If you love to nibble while indulging in creative craft 🍹 cocktails, this is definitely the spot for you.

While sipping painkillers, espresso martinis 🍸 , and more we tasted a bad dog, jerk chicken ci**rs (my favorite 😍), and golden fried codfish rice balls (hubby’s favorite 🤩).

Our biggest problem?
We were too full to sample the rest of their savory selections.

Oh well. 🤷‍♀️ I guess we will just have to plan a return trip.
