To be one of 37 Jamaican men nominated this year and awarded at the 2024 Outstanding Fathers Award Ceremony, is indeed an honour.
The ceremony was held last Friday at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, hosted by the Bureau of Gender Affairs, and the presentation was made by the Hon. Olivia Grange, OJ,CD, GCSE, MP.
I am sincerely appreciative of such consideration and some may even say, deservedly so.

Receiving such an award though, with a portion of the brain tumor still lingering beneath my skull, came with mixed emotions.

Unfortunately, a medical decision was made, in my best interest, during the Craniotomy Brain Surgery procedure on March 18th. So as to not affect my cognitive abilities and motor skills, not all the tumor was removed.
The remaining portion of tumor requires radiotherapy to remove it totally and prevent any possibility of another regrowth. This radiation therapy process has an estimated timeline of 27 working days for completion, however, a date to commence the treatment is not yet confirmed.
Until then, I remain humble and ever thankful for the progress that has been made thus far. The healing journey continues and as always, I am trusting for the best possible outcome.

Such a sweet little princess and she needs all the support possible.
4 years old Dahnelia Davis is diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. This cancer occurs when the bone marrow produces a large number of immature white blood cells (lymphoblasts). The immature and abnormal lymphoblasts grow quickly and replace normal cells in the bone marrow, hence affecting the production of healthy red blood cells and platelets.
Dahnelia is currently a patient at the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Jamaica and has been receiving chemotherapy treatments since her diagnosis last July.
Her complications have surmounted and after 6 months of chemotherapy, her Doctor indicated the need for her to do a b Bone Marrow Transplant.
Jamaica's inability to undergo the required Bone Marrow Transplant, means that Dahnelia will have to travel overseas to get the treatment that is recommended for her survival.

Dahnelia and her mom Melecia Clarke are in dire need of our support.
