A special acknowledgement to moms whose journey was unexpected. Whose daily lives often involve many explanations so your child can be involved in basic things, advocacy, silent blows received through ignorant comments and the constant thoughts on how you can make their life better.

The mom who gives once she has breath and loves deeply. Who sees her little one beyond a diagnosis and has a heart full from the joys of his/her existence.

We honor you today and we see you! You can't measure the world of difference you have made. I pray you will catch a glimpse one day!

One of our focus points in playing our part in increasing the chance for early intervention is partnering with early childhood institutions. Empowering the teachers to identify possible red flags, establishing protocol within the school to both address and communicate with parents and adjusting the physical, social and emotional environment to accommodate all learners.

It was a great time at Providence Methodist Early Childhood Institution. The teachers were eager to learn. We laughed many times and we recognized biases that hindered the strategies often employed.

We look forward to meeting with a few other partners in the coming months.
