Meet Rand Darras who graduated from ReBootKamp (RBK)'s durable skills accelerator during the height of the pandemic 💪

Despite no previous background in programming, within a month of graduation, Rand was hired as a full-stack software engineer 👩🏻‍💻

Boom 💥 zero to hero...a complete career change...in 6 months 🚀

Today she plies her problem solving and programming talents at Chicago-based CrossRealms, Inc. 🧠

Rand had little idea at the time, but her degree in visual and performing arts would become far more valuable than a masters in computer science or software engineering💰

Why? Because it broadened her horizons and increased her capacity to connect disparate dots - essential in today's fast changing and increasingly complex world 🧩

More importantly, a liberal arts degree allowed her to develop her communication skills and tap the immense power of storytelling 🎭

Neither of these essential skills are honed in local engineering degree programs 🚫

Rand is the face of the modern Arab woman - bold, courageous and willing to fight for women's empowerment in a society where gender inequality is off-the-chart 🥊

Given her trajectory and work as a social justice warrior combined with the self-awareness gleaned during her RBK experience, Rand is poised to become a future shaper of industry and her community 📣
