The GJUDaF exam will take place on Saturday, 16.05.26 / 23.05.26
• Registration for the exam is now open at https://www.testdaf.de/portal/registration/registration/gjudaf/shopping-cart?uuid=bcb4f117-a7fc-409f-95fb-bd1acef3ad7f
• Registration will close on 10/04/2026. Registration will not be possible after 10/04/2026
• The exam fee is 100 Euros. The Payment must be made online with a Visa, MasterCard, etc.
• Timely payment of the examination fee is required for successful registration.
• SAHSS students: If you have passed some parts and want to repeat only the failed ones, you pay for the whole exam but only attend the missed parts. Do not repeat the parts you passed.
• SAHSS students: If you are planning to start your GY in the second semester 2027 (in a year), it is highly recommended that you sit for the exam this semester. The passed parts of B1 for the outgoings in the second semester must be submitted to the school in October 2026 (late submission deadline: 1.12.2026)!

The German Jordanian University (GJU) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Jordan River Foundation (JRF) / Madrasati Initiative, with the aim of strengthening collaboration in implementing the E-Twinning Program and developing the capacities of professionals working in the education and social work sectors in Jordan.

الأميرة بسمة ترعى إطلاق برنامج الدكتوراة في العمل الاجتماعي في "الألمانية الأردنية"
رعت سمو الأميرة بسمة بنت طلال في الجامعة الألمانية الأردنية، اليوم الاثنين، حفل إطلاق برنامج الدكتوراة في العمل الاجتماعي، بحضور رئيس الجامعة الدكتور علاء الدين الحلحولي، ونائب رئيس جامعة هامبورغ للعلوم التطبيقية الدكتور المهندس بيتر وولف.
وقالت سمو الأميرة بسمة، إن أهمية إطلاق برنامج الدكتوراة في العمل الاجتماعي، تكمن في الحاجة المُلحة إلى أساليب أفضل لفهم التنمية وممارستها، مؤكدة أن مؤسسات الخدمة الاجتماعية في منطقتنا والعالم أجمع، تعمل تحت ضغط هائل، فهي تستجيب للصراعات والنزوح والفقر وعدم المساواة وضغوط المناخ والتغيرات الديموغرافية المتسارعة، غالبًا بموارد محدودة وأنظمة مجزأة.
وأضافت "كثيرًا ما تُعرض الحقائق التي تواجهها المجتمعات من خلال مشاريع قصيرة الأجل، أو أطر مؤسسية جامدة، أو نماذج خارجية يصعب عليها عكس الواقع المعيش".
وقالت: إن "هذا البرنامج يُقدّم الدكتوراة كأداة لإعادة تصور التنمية في الممارسة العملية، انطلاقًا من مؤسسات ومجتمعات وقيود حقيقية، فهو يُفسح المجال لبحوث دقيقة لا تنفصل عن الممارسة، بل تتفاعل معها، إذ تُحلّل كيفية عمل أنظمة الخدمة الاجتماعية، وكيفية عمل السلطة وصنع القرار داخل المؤسسات، وكيف يُمكن للمنظمات التكيّف لخدمة الناس الذين وُجدت من أجلهم على نحو أفضل".
وقالت سمو الأميرة بسمة إنه "من خلال عملي في مركز جهد، أرى يوميًا أن التحوّل المستدام لا يتحقق باستيراد النماذج أو زيادة المشاريع، بل بالاستماع والتعلم والتأمل الذاتي المؤسسي، فالمجتمعات ليست متلقّين سلبيين للخدمات، بل هي حاملة للمعرفة والخبرة والحلول، ويجب على الخدمة الاجتماعية أن تُساعد في استعادة هذا الصوت وترجمته إلى سياسات وتغييرات تنظيمية وأنظمة أكثر استجابة".
وبينت أن "برنامج الدكتوراة الذي نُطلقه اليوم، يُهيّئ الظروفَ اللازمة لهذا النوع من العمل تحديدًا، فهو يُعزّز قطاع الخدمة الاجتماعية من الداخل، ويدعم التعلّم المؤسسي، ويربط السياسات بالواقع الذي نعيشه، رابطًا البحث مباشرةً بكيفية تصميم الخدمات وتقديمها وإدارتها".
وتابعت "هذا ليس بحثًا لذاته، بل هو بحثٌ يخدم الأفراد والمؤسسات والمجتمعات التي تواجه ضغوطًا، ويهدف لتزويد الممارسين والقادة والمجتمعات بالمعرفة اللازمة لتغيير أساليب التنمية، وبهذا المعنى، لا يقتصر هذا البرنامج على الجانب الأكاديمي فحسب، بل هو عملي للغاية، وذو صلة وثيقة بالواقع، وضروري للغاية".
وقدمت سمو الأميرة التهنئة للجامعة الألمانية الأردنية وشركائها على هذه الخطوة المهمة، متطلعة إلى إسهامات هذا المجال الأكاديمي المتخصص في العمل الاجتماعي، وممارسات التنمية، والتحول المؤسسي في السنوات القادمة.
بدوره، قال رئيس الجامعة الألمانية الأردنية الدكتور علاء الحلحولي، إن إطلاق برنامج الدكتوراة في العمل الاجتماعي في الجامعة الألمانية الأردنية، بالشراكة مع جامعة هامبورغ، جاء منسجمًا بشكل كامل مع رؤية التحديث الاقتصادي الأردنية، التي تضع تنمية رأس المال البشري، والحماية الاجتماعية، وصنع السياسات القائمة على الأدلة العلمية في صلب النمو الاقتصادي المستدام.
وأضاف أن البرنامج جاء استجابة للطلب المتزايد على المستويين الوطني والإقليمي والدولي على مختصين مؤهلين تأهيلاً عاليًا في مجال الخدمة الاجتماعية، ليشكل أول برنامج دكتوراة في الخدمة الاجتماعية في الأردن، ومحطة نوعية تعكس ثقة المجتمعين الأكاديمي والوطني بمكانة الجامعة ودورها العلمي والإنساني.
وبيّن عميد كلية الإنسانيات التطبيقية والعلوم الاجتماعية، الدكتور هيثم الثوابية، أن البرنامج يُجسّد نموذجًا متقدمًا للتعاون الأكاديمي بين جامعتي الألمانية الأردنية وهامبورغ للعلوم التطبيقية، ويسهم في إعداد باحثين مؤهلين لدعم أهداف التنمية الوطنية والتعامل مع التحديات الاجتماعية المعاصرة.
من جانبه، أعرب نائب رئيس جامعة هامبورغ للعلوم التطبيقية، الدكتور المهندس بيتر فولف، عن اعتزازه بهذه الشراكة الأكاديمية، مؤكّدًا أنها نموذج للتعاون الدولي في التعليم العالي وبناء برامج نوعية ذات أثر مجتمعي مستدام.
ويهدف البرنامج إلى إعداد باحثين متخصصين في العمل الاجتماعي، من خلال تدريب منهجي يجمع بين البحث العلمي التطبيقي والتأهيل المتقدم، ويركز على القضايا الاجتماعية المعاصرة والتحديات العابرة للحدود، ودعم تطوير سياسات وتدخلات قائمة على الأدلة العلمية.
وتضمن الحفل عرضًا تعريفيًا قدمه أكاديميون من الجامعتين، استعرضوا فيه فلسفة البرنامج ومحاوره البحثية وأهدافه في تطوير المعرفة وربطها بصنع القرار والسياسات الاجتماعية.
واختُتم الحفل بحلقة نقاش علمية حول دور البرامج البحثية المشتركة في مواجهة التحديات الاجتماعية وأهمية التعاون الأكاديمي الدولي لإحداث أثر حقيقي

The 4th International “Fokus DaF/DaZ” Conference wasn’t just another academic event; it felt like a genuine meeting point for people who care about language, teaching, and the exchange of ideas across borders.

Listening to the conversations and seeing the energy in the sessions reminded me why the German dimension at GJU is such an essential part of who we are.

It’s always inspiring to see colleagues putting so much effort into creating spaces like this. Moments like these show the kind of academic culture we’re building — one that’s open, collaborative, and looking forward.

لقطات من افتتاح المؤتمر الدولي الرابع في الجامعة الألمانية الأردنية حول تعليم اللغة الألمانية، بمشاركة نخبة من الأكاديميين والخبراء الدوليين، تأكيدًا على دور الجامعة في تعزيز البحث العلمي وبناء شراكات أكاديمية عالمية.

The School of Applied Humanities and Social Sciences held an orientation and open dialogue session on November 12, 2025, welcoming new and current students from the BA in German and English for Business and Communication (GEBC) and BA in Translation (TRA).
Dean Prof. Dr. Haytham Althawabih opened the event by highlighting the school’s vision of community and academic engagement. Dr. Farah AlAtrash, Dean of Student Affairs, presented student opportunities and services offered by DSA. Dr. Bassmah AlTaher outlined study plans, advisory systems, and the BA thesis, encouraging students to take ownership of their learning.
Mr. Osama Salaita discussed Field Training and Dual Studies, while Dr. Oliver Ritter introduced Translation Scholarships. Mrs. Mariam Abu Hussein explained the German Year and its cultural and academic benefits. Prof. Dr. Gordon Mitchell concluded with motivational remarks about pursuing academic goals and future studies.
The session ended with an open discussion, reflecting the school’s commitment to supporting students and fostering a collaborative academic environment.

Looking for Part-Time Lecturers for Spring Semester 2025/2026

The School of Applied Humanities and Social Sciences at the German Jordanian University (GJU) is seeking part-time lecturers to teach the following courses during the Spring Semester of the Academic Year 2025/2026.

Courses to be taught:
-Soft Skills
- Leadership and Emotional Intelligence
- Business Entrepreneurship

Required Qualifications
- Academic Degree: Master’s degree (minimum requirement) in Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, or any related field.
- Theoretical Knowledge: Solid understanding of leadership theories, emotional intelligence, entrepreneurship, and business management.
- Professional Experience: Demonstrated experience in leadership roles, entrepreneurship, training, or consulting.
- Teaching Skills: Ability to apply active learning strategies (case studies, role play, simulations, discussions).
- Personal Competencies: High emotional intelligence, strong leadership presence, inspiring teaching style, and ability to connect theory with practice.
- Language: Fluent in English
- LMS: Experience in Using Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle, MS Teams)

Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Leadership Coach, Emotional Intelligence Practitioner, Entrepreneurship Mentor).
Previous experience in university teaching or professional training.
Active professional network in leadership or entrepreneurship fields.

From Vision to Achievement – 20 Years of Success

The School of Applied Humanities and Social Sciences (SAHSS) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) hosted a Research Summer School in Social Work on September 20th, in cooperation with the University of Hamburg and the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.

The summer school aimed to provide master’s students, graduates, and doctoral candidates with training on research methods and support tools to advance their projects in the field of social work.

As part of the collaboration between the School of Applied Humanities and Social Sciences at the German Jordanian University, Goethe University Frankfurt, and the University of Hamburg, a delegation visited GJU on September 2, 3, and 4. The visit marked the launch of a planned Exchange Study Program focusing on Arabic Language and Culture. This initiative is envisioned as the foundation for a broader, long-term exchange program that will continue for years to come.
