From August 9 to 21 we leave for Hokkaido... in Brompton.

It starts from Wakkanai, at the top of Japan, and you go down to Sapporo by pedaling day after day.

I know, said like this it seems strange: Hokkaido + Brompton. Actually it’s just the beauty.

Empty roads for miles, perfect asphalt and zero traffic. After a while you are out of everything: endless fields, forests and every now and then the ocean that suddenly appears.

You pedal without stress, everyone at their own pace. The Brompton flows here which is a wonder.

The breaks come by themselves: a coffee found by chance, a view that makes you stop, a fox crossing the street in front of you.

Distances pass smoothly, more than you think.

And in the evening that “right” tiredness arrives. Full legs, light head.

It’s not the usual trip, and maybe that’s why it works.
