Uganda Christian University’s Bishop Barham University College in Kabale has gone viral, after student identified as Medard Mugumya dumped his longtime girlfriend and instead proposed to his lecturer.

Sources say Medard Mugumya, a Kiswahili student, and Agenze Rominate Owomugisha, the Head of the Department of Education left everyone surprised by the engagement.

According to sources ,the two had been involved in a private relationship for months. During that time, Mugumya was reportedly still publicly dating a fellow student identified as Vallene , insiders say things turned upside down when Vallene introduced Mugumya to Owomugisha, unaware that the connection would later evolve into a romantic relationship.

What began as ordinary interaction reportedly grew into a secret love affair and later the two started bonking tubeless until they couldn't leave each other because of the sweetness.

The proposal effectively confirmed the once secret rumors and we now hear that the couple is moving ahead with wedding plans, with their marriage reportedly scheduled for May 2026.

STUDENT NABBED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

Police officers have this evening arrested a female fourth-year student at Garissa University after recovering 650 sticks of bhang hidden in her wardrobe.

The arrest followed an intelligence-led operation, with the suspect believed to be involved in drug trafficking.

Investigations are ongoing as police tighten the noose on narcotics dealers.

The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) has today elected 10 military representatives to Parliament for the 2026–2031 term following polls conducted by the Defence Forces Council electoral college, today, at the Land Forces Headquarters in Bombo, Luweero District.

The election, overseen by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) chaired by Justice Simon Byabakama, resulted in the selection of the following representatives:
