Meet Agnes, the chair of Rokocho Kamamu Self Help Group, who turned her FOSECCA(Food Security and Climate Change Adaptation) training into real change. After learning about agro-ecology, crop diversification, and soil conservation, she immediately applied the practices on her own farm in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
Today, her fields are a beautiful mix of nyota beans, fruits, groundnuts, orange-fleshed sweet potatoes, and leafy vegetables, all grown in ways that protect the soil and boost resilience.
Her neighbours are learning from her example, and her family is already enjoying the benefits of healthier soil and better harvests.

Agnes shows that empowered farmers strengthen entire communities. πŸŒΎπŸ’› FOSECCA is implemented in partnership with DanChurchAid and Bread for the World.

The sun rose over Turkana South and Aroo as women and youth leaders gathered in classrooms, discussing the best ways to anticipate drought risks. They reviewed contingency plans and shared ideas on community safety. By the end of the day, every participant carried home more than knowledge; they carried hope and tools to make a difference.
Preparedness is power! 🌟The ERYWAS (Empowering Resilience through Youth and Women-Led Action for Sustainable Drought Preparedness) project is training youth and women in Turkana to lead their communities in drought response. Each plan made, each skill learned, strengthens the future of these resilient communities. Together, they are turning challenges into opportunities!
