On 24th July 2026 at 10:00 AM, we will celebrate another remarkable milestone as we gather at Lang'ata Women Prison for the UFUNUO Program Graduation Ceremony.

This graduation is more than a ceremony. It is a celebration of resilience, transformation, restored dignity, and the power of second chances. Each of the 70 graduates represents a story of hope and the possibility of a brighter future.

As I reflect on Clean Start Africa’s ten-year journey, I am inspired by the transformative leadership that has guided the organization from a bold vision into a movement of hope, restoration, and opportunity.

Over the years, I have witnessed leadership that is rooted in compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to justice, empowering women, children, and families affected by incarceration to rebuild their lives with dignity.

This journey has demonstrated that true leadership is not only about setting direction but also about creating space for others to thrive, grow, and discover their potential. Being part of this decade-long impact has reinforced my belief that when leadership is driven by purpose and service, it can spark lasting change in communities and inspire generations to believe in second chances.

As Clean Start Africa celebrates 10 years of impact, Janet Irungu our Children & Youth Program Lead reflects with gratitude on being part of a journey that has transformed countless lives. She shares that witnessing women, youth, and children overcome stigma, rebuild their confidence, and embrace new opportunities has been both inspiring and humbling.
