The Cambodian government has reportedly issued an official notice ordering African nationals, including Kenyans, Ugandans, Ghanaians and Cameroonians, to leave the country by May 31, 2026.

According to the notice shared online, foreigners who remain in Cambodia from June 1, 2026 risk arrest, a two year jail term and an $8,000 fine before being allowed to leave the country.

The notice, issued by Cambodia’s General Department of Immigration, also states that authorities will begin arresting foreigners found overstaying in the country after the deadline.
