Governor Joseph Ole Lenku is set to lead yet another groundbreaking ceremony, this time for the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Kajiado Campus.

The symbolism is rich.
Seven years ago, with equal fanfare, the Kajiado University of Science and Technology was unveiled under his watch. Today, that project still stands as a “gazetted university” on paper, but on the ground, a silent monument to stalled ambition.

So as the shovels hit the soil and speeches fill the air, residents are left asking a simple question:
Is this the birth of a new institution, or the beginning of another long-term white elephant?

Groundbreakings are easy. Completion is the real leadership test.
