Mt. Kenya Run - Meru
The Mt. Kenya Running Championships – Meru 2020 is an initiative of the County Government of Meru.
The Mt Kenya Mountain Run was not just a test of endurance and strength, but it was also an opportunity to witness the incredible talents of the local communities.
Dressed in colorful traditional garments, Our mothers sang local songs and danced to show their hospitality and appreciation for the visitors.
Their voices were strong and melodious, and the lyrics were filled with words of kindness and encouragement. The runners were moved by the warmth and sincerity of the welcome, and many joined in the singing and dancing.
It was a beautiful display of community spirit and a reminder of the power of human connection.
During the Mt Kenya Mountain Run, our veteran runners brought some unique entertainment to the event. As the sun began to set over the mountain, they put on a traditional dance performance for all the participants and spectators.
With music beating in the background, the runners moved gracefully in time to the music, their brightly colored outfits swaying with each step. The energy was contagious, and soon many of the other runners joined in, clapping and dancing along with the veterans.
It was a beautiful moment of unity and celebration, bringing together different cultures and generations through the shared love of running and music. The joy and camaraderie of the event were palpable, and it's moments like these that make the Mt Kenya Mountain Run such a special and unforgettable experience.
We were grateful to our veteran runners for sharing this special moment with us, and it was a highlight of the event that will be remembered for years to come.
