MUHURI joined hands with the people of Mombasa to honor the brave young Kenyans who were killed by state forces during the June 24th anti-finance bill protests of 2024 and 2025.

We began our morning at 8:00 AM under the roof of the ACK Cathedral, sharing prayers, tears, and quiet moments of solidarity with the families of the victims.

By 9:00 AM, that grief turned into collective action. We took to the streets, marching from the historic Mapembeni through the heart of the city all the way to Treasury Square. There, we handed our petition directly to the Mombasa County Commissioner with two non-negotiable demands: the police officers who took these young lives must be arrested and prosecuted, and the government must stop interfering with our constitutional right to protest.

To everyone who showed up, stood with us, and refused to let the world forget--thank you. Thank you very much. This second anniversary march proved that the fight for justice doesn't end with time. We remember them, and we will keep marching until accountability is served.
