In June 2023, Nigeria floated the naira. What followed was one of the most disruptive FX events in the country's corporate history:

📉 The naira collapsed from 460 to 1,535 per US dollar in under 18 months.
📈 Inflation peaked at 34.8% by December 2024.
💸 Leading consumer goods firms reported a combined FX loss of 839 billion naira — equivalent to 18% of their combined revenue.

And that was before the United States placed a 14% tariff on Nigerian exports in April 2025 — adding a global supply chain dimension to an already volatile domestic environment.
